UNDER 18 MATCH REPORT: LEFC 4 - 1 Castle Donington

It was something of a local derby as Emmanuel took on Castle Donnington in the Derby City League. Donnington began very well and threatened to score early on and might have done so were it not for solid work from captain Sharp and co. in the Emmanuel defence. Emmanuel then came back strongly with Tyrer and Smithson combining well down the left and the church side could easily have scored themselves, coming closest thro a Pownall strike that hit the post. However, it was Donnington who took the lead through a well taken break-away goal just before half time. Emmanuel, though, re-grouped and came out determined to raise the tempo and this they did, forcing a string of corners. Finally, they got the equalizer as Arme's fierce header was handled on the line and Sweet scored the ensuing penalty. With Donnington down to ten men Emmanuel went on to take the lead through Aning who knocked in a neat pass from Walker. Aning then headed in Emmanuel's third goal before fellow-substitute Lewis stroked home a fourth. Both teams are to be congratulated on such a good game.
