We operate as part of the youth work of Emmanuel Church, Loughborough. Our aim is to provide a safe and fun environment for young people to play football and where necessary give assistance to those who may otherwise find being part of a football team expensive. Our policy is that no young person should miss out.

RECENT HISTORY
Emmanuel Youth football teams started in the summer of 1997. For years Emmanuel kids and teenagers had played football on the green in front of the church but never anything serious. Then, a few adults in the church decided to organise a 7-a-side football tournament within the church, teams being mixed of adults and kids. Not surprisingly a team containing three of the current adults team won, but everyone enjoyed it! Taking this and the obvious enthusiasm from the younger members of the church (including us!) Ted Parton and John Schad, two adults from the church along with Tom Day, a 16 year old at the time decided it would be good to take that a step farther. One Sunday morning, completely out of the blue, it was announced that there would be a meeting upstairs in the church centre after the service for any of the younger people interested in playing football more seriously, we were told the plans, and the teams were born.

More ancient history - Loughborough & District Charity Cup
"The Loughborough & District Charity Cup Association was formed on April 16th 1898 ... although there were a number of local 'giants' among the first entrants it was to be Loughborough Emmanuel FC who would have their name engraved on the virgin base, with a 2-0 victory over Quorn Havelock ..."
LEFC were also finalists in 1901 and 1902.
The trophy base has been replaced at some time in its history, and the location of the base with LEFC's name on it is not known.
