UNDER 15 MATCH REPORT: LEFC 1 - 4 Castle Donington

Animated Gifs

With a poor run of recent results Emmanuel needed to show some serious bottle against table toppers Castle Donington who before the game had a record of played 19, scored 132 and conceded just 21. Donington average 8 goals per game, so the scoreline and the performance from Emmanuel, whilst gaining no points, should go some way to reminding us how to compete.

It could have been even better for Emmanuel but poor concentration in the opening 10 minutes of each half cost us 4 sloppy goals and once again poor finishing at the other end saw us miss several key chances to spring a suprise result. We've created more than enough chances in the last 5 matches to win each one and this is one aspect of our game that has really cost us this season. Not enough goals.

However, the real positives from the game were several solid performances and a real battling effort from start to finish. John Parton scored a fine goal, Jack Ball ran his Jack Balls off, Keezy put in some superb crosses from the left and Rhys and Isaac combined well in midfield with able assistance in each half from Adam and Taku. Jubed was as always tireless and Joe put in a good performance at left back. The real stars however were Vishal, Jabed and Rob, who kept the leagues top scorers quiet for the majority of the game. We rode our luck, Rob cleared off the line excellently, Jabed read the game well and Vishal handled superbly but the determination not to roll over and get hammered as most of the other teams in the league have been against Donington this season was evident. A little bit more composure from us when our chances came and who knows what we could've achieved. A very positive display and despite the defeat something to take into wednesdays match against Darley.

Well Done Emmanuel, more fight like this please.

Goal: John Parton
Man of The Match: Rob Barrow
