In beating Draycott the following records were set:
• The team passed the previous club record for number of points earned by an under 12’s team.
• The team passed their own points record from the previous season.
• Kieron became the first squad member to score two league hat-tricks
The team also reclaimed 4th place in the Derby City League and Kieron (now on 16 goals) looks like he could break every scoring record in the books. Given that Hart had not played a competitive match since 12th December and had been kicked in the head on Thursday you could be forgiven for wondering if anything will ever distract him from his single minded obsession with the back of the opposition net.
The Record breaking Squad: Tom ‘the cat’ Stanton, James ‘determination’ Craig, Matthew ‘desperate’ Duxbury, Matt ‘relentless’ Harris, Nass ‘the terminator’ Tourki, William ‘pick on someone your own size’ Wilson, Ahmed ‘Captain Fantastic’ Al-jaf, Anupam ’reads the game’ Paul, Josh ‘bonecrusher’ Elliott, Cedrick ‘Usain Bolt’ Nattrass, Kieron ‘the Hitman’ Hart, Kirk ‘keepy uppy’ Walters, Aurel ‘Artful Dodger’ Siddiki
The scorers: Kieron 3, Kirk 2
Assists: Ahmed 2, Matt H, Josh, ANO???
Man of the Match: Matt D
MoM runners Up: William, Anupam, James
Emmanuel started brightly and Hitman Hart turned the pressure into an early lead with his customary clinical finish. With defenders Craig, Tourki, Paul and Wilson pressuring the opposition’s wide midfield players, Nattrass and Harris started to see plenty of the ball on the Emmanuel wings. The lead was doubled when the composed Walters superbly volleyed a Harris cross home. In what should have been a comfortable second half Draycott scored twice either side of a Hart second as Emmanuel wobbled. Only a series of superbly timed tackles by man of the match Duxbury and a magnificent save from keeper Stanton preserved the slender lead. As the half wore on the tough tackling Elliott and Captain Aljaf started to boss the midfield and in a generous lashing of extra time (that would even have satisfied Alex Ferguson) Emmanuel extinguished the opposition threat with Hart completing another hat-trick and Walters nipping in front of court jester, Siddiki, to convert an Elliott cross. There were periods in the game when we passed the ball well and bossed the show. I feel we used the width of the pitch better than we have done in the past and the fact we scored 5 goals was no coincidence. Well done guys!
