UNDER 18 MATCH REPORT: LEFC 8 - 0 Pastures Youth

Emmanuel continue to make good progress in the Derby City Challenge Cup as they overcame a battling, never-say-die Pastures outfit. Emmanuel began well and, with Sweet dominant in midfield and Schad and Smithson combining well down, the church club Emmanuel created a string of chances but stout Pastures defence kept them at bay until man-of-the-match Sharp broke the deadlock with a fine shot from the edge of the box. A few minutes later Riman produced a very similar strike to make it two before Walker finished the half by rounding the keeper and slotting home number three. The second half saw Pastures begin brightly with the wind at their backs and it took some alert defence from Tyrer and Arme , as well as a fine save from Day, to keep Pastures out. Emmanuel then made it four as Pownall scored a fine break-away goal. Pownall then followed this up by scoring from an acute angle . Aning then made it six from the penalty spot before Pownall completed his hat-trick firing home after a fine run and cross from Frutuoso. Emmanuel were not though finished and, with Etherington prompting intelligently from midfield, Emmanuel continued to create chances. With minutes to go Walker completed the scoring as he rose to head in a beautiful cross from Lewis
