UNDER 15 MATCH REPORT: Darley Abbey Colts 6 - 0 LEFC

Animated Gifs

A very poor performance from Emmanuel saw Darley Abbey Colts complete a league treble for the season and take away 3 easy victories. The difference between the battling Emmanuel side that performed so well against Castle Donington on Saturday and the feeble one which turned up last night was quite remarkable. In truth, with the exception of a fluke goal which bounced over Vishal, the first half was relatively even and the game was close but the 2nd half saw Darley Abbey display far more determination and motivation to win the match with Emmanuel 2nd to nearly every ball and failing to react to..well most things. The amount of ball watching and lack of anticipation was at a record high and the failure to work the goalkeeper for the entire match was a concern. Darley have deserved all the points they have taken from us this season and well done to them on turning around a bad start to the season. However we should not let it escape our notice that half of their seasons point tally have come from us and they and Heanor remain the only teams we have failed to take anything from.

However, despite this we still find ourselves with our destiny in our own hands. With 3 games left we can still finish above Darley and Mickleover and grab 5th spot but on the evidence of last night this will require a massive effort and commitment. We know we have the quality but we must now find the heart and determination to dig out at least 2 victories, starting with Stretton on Saturday. Emmanuel must return to winning ways, there can be no excuses, and we will be looking for some character from all the players.

Goals: -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Man of The Match: Norradin Tourki.
