With 20 minutes to play a Bancroft chip came within inches of breaking the deadlock. When Chellaston responded by taking the lead you could have been forgiven for thinking that it wasn’t going to be Emmanuel’s day. But Hitman Hart had other ideas and when his equaliser was followed by a 30 yard screamer from Al-Zubayel, Emmanuel went into serious goal rush mode. With the intelligent Harris taking over from the hard working Craig on the wide right and the combative Tourki given the freedom to bulldoze the opposition rearguard, Captain Al-jaf started to get the time and space to find his passing range. Duxbury and Wilson showed great composure as they passed the ball out from defence while Paul and Barber pressed the opposition forwards reducing keeper Stanton to a spectator role. The irresistible Hart notched his 19th of the season and mercurial left winger, Nattrass joined the party by chipping the keeper for the 4th. Tourki shovelled in a 5th and the gifted Walters showed great talent to complete the scoring and leave the spirited opponents in a state of bewilderment.

Points to note:

  1. When we just kick the ball in the general direction of the opposition goal we are a poor team.
  2. When we fight to get the ball and are calm in possession we are a good team.
  3. Always get into a position where your team mates can pass to you and shout if you want the ball.
  4. Use your body to shield the ball – don’t be afraid to pass the ball sideways or back.
  5. You defended corners very well. You marked well and closed down quickly.

Hitman Update….20 goals in a season is a massive landmark for any player. Kieron the Hitman Hart has 19. We only know of one other Emmanuel player who has reached the 20 landmark. We’ll keep you posted….
