Today marked the end of an era as LEFC legend and Alan Davis look-a-like Tobias Armstrong "Clear it for a Corner" Telfer retired from competitive football.
Telfer who started his career at the age of 3 was a true Emmanuel favourite and during one spectacular season gained a record number of man of the match awards for his heroic defensive displays. Subsequently any player recieving the award was dubbed "Toby of the Match". Telfer also contributed several own goals but was relieved during the 2008/09 season when Jubed Rahman scored a 30 yard half volleyed own goal which became the bench mark for full on stupidity.
Increasing hair, girlfriend and moshing commitments have led Telfer to the conclusion that the time is right to hang up his boots. That and the bonus of not having to get out of bed before 2pm on a Saturday. Telfer however will continue the train with the squad and work on his glutes and guns for the ladies.
