UNDER 14's MATCH REPORT: St.Georges 3 - 2 LEFC

I almost forgot about this report as it's been a busy week. In fact I'm thinking a lot about Saturdays trip to play league leaders Mickleover 95 UTD. But, looking back is sometimes a good thing and there were plenty of positives to dwell on from last saturday.

Firstly, the overall performance was a dramatic improvement from the pedestrian, half hearted effort from the week before. The workrate, desire and attitude were far better and we started to show some of the good things about our team which we seem to have forgotten since before Christmas. In fact with the number of chances we created in the first half we could've had the match won by the interval but that killer instinct in front of goal still deserts us from time to time. Despite grabbing 2 goals Alex could've had 6 or 7 and it seems his head, not his ability stops him from scoring at least at hat-trick in every match he plays. I want you to start believing in your ability to be that clinical striker Alex. You are by far the best forward in this league. This is something you all need to think about however, your confidence in yourself and your team mates. Have faith in those around around you and be there for each other on the pitch.

Second, we competed far more, something we'll have to do this weekend if we want something from the game against 95 Utd. We worked hard all over the pitch and the tempo of our play was good. One thing that continues to irritate me however is our lack of support from the fullbacks in wide areas. In training you overlap, get up to the box, look for a goal and offer support for the wingers and forwards in wide areas, so what's different in matches? Something to work on.

Overall, much better against one of the divisions better teams. Before Christmas we were one of those teams, no-one wanted to play us, so get back to that Emmanuel, we haven't gone bad, we've just forgotten how to win again and what a great opportunity to step up a gear at the weekend against the top team. I know you can do it, and you guys should too.

Also, a special mention to Andrew who was awesome on his return to the team after a spell on the sidelines with illness. He's not 100% yet and might be having an op in the summer so please remember when you're on the field with Andy, you're in the presence of a warrior!

Goals: Alex...again
Toby of the Match: Isaac

Squad: Sam (ok for a pool fan), Rob (worth 76 million on FIFA apparently), Jabed (plays in his slippers), Alex (makes Will Smith look like a dork), Adam (another pool fan, it's a disease), Big Jack (knows his stuff), John (headers mess up his hair), Andrew (warrior, nuff said), Lil'Jack (magic in those feet), Tobes (sheep head), Patryk (Polands national hero), Jubed (like a pit bull and a whipet), Joe (he must dye his hair, seriously, it's like he's Sweedish) and Isaac (for a Gooner he's alright like).
