UNDER 16's MATCH REPORT: Pastures Youth 1 - 5 LEFC

Emmanuel confirmed their place in the top three after a comprehensive win away at battling Pastures Youth. Emmanuel began slowly, but with Arme and Riman supreme at the back Emmanuel soon turned the tide and began to pile on the pressure creating a string of chances but not quite adding the finishing touch. It seemed the deadklock would be broken when man of the match Sharp was upended in the box, but Smithson's penalty was well saved. Sharpe though soon settled any Emmanuel nerves as he finished superbly after latching onto a excellent through ball from Schad. The second goal soon followed as Eccleston put in a huge tackle before releasing Aning who played an exquisite pass to Smithson who finished expertly. The second half began with Schad heading in from a Sharp corner and this was soon followed by a fourth as Aning knocked the ball in from another corner. Pastures then briefly threatened but Day once again looked completely assured in the Emmanuel goal. Emmanuel then made it five as Walker followed up as the Pastures keeper failed to hold a Large shot. Pastures then got a consolation goal as Emmanuel's concentration lapsed, but with Woodward and Pownall dangerous on the wings Emmanuel were unlucky not to make it six.
