UNDER 16's MATCH REPORT: LEFC 3 - 3 Sherwin

Emmanuel took their unbeaten run to seven games as they came back from two-down to share the points against a very strong Sherwin outfit. The opening exchanges were fairly even but Emmanuel looked to have taken the lead as Sharp produced an excellent volley only for the Sherwin keeper to match it with a quite stunning save - the first, in fact, of a whole string of outstanding saves. Inspired by their keeper Sherwin were soon two-up as Emmanuel, playing against the wind, struggled to cope with Sherwin's direct approach. Emmanuel soon, though, came back into the game with Arme, Riman and Eccleston taking charge at the back, and Large prompting intelligently in midfield. During this phase the Sherwin keeper made a couple more top-drawer saves and so Emmanuel went into the half-time break two-down. The second half began, however, with an early Emmanuel goal as Walker latched onto a long ball from Cole to score. >From here on Emmanuel never quite dominated and indeed Day had to be at his very best to tip one shot into the bar; however, Emmanuel did produce all the best chances and finally got their reward as first Walker finished well from an excellent Pownall pass and then, with just minutes to go, Aning slotted home after a fine pass from Sharpe. Emmanuel looked to have snatched victory from the jaws of defeat but then Sherwin grabbed a late, late equalizer. It was tough on Emmanuel but the whole squad could still be proud of a fantastic come-back.
