UNDER 16's MATCH REPORT: Codnor Boys 1 - 7 LEFC

Ten games into the season and Emmanuel have lost one just one, and this latest victory was as emphatic as any of the previous seven. Early on, though, centre-backs Arme and Riman needed to be as strong as ever as Codnor pressed but Emmanuel soon took both command and the lead as Aning fired home from the edge of the box. The second goal soon followed as Pownall finished off a lovely cross-field move involving both Woodward and Sharp. The third goal came from Cole who produced an excellent run down the left wing which he completed with a cross-cum-shot which flew into the net. Soon after this Aning made it four-nil as he finished clinically after latching onto an excellent through ball from Schad. Half time came and with it the return to the team of Watkiss after a long lay-off following a serious injury. Watkiss slotted in at centre-back and was tested early on as Emmanuel lost concentration and Codnor punished them with a goal. Emmanuel did, though, respond well as left-winger Lewis fired home for his first goal of the season. This was then followed by two more goals as first Allard headed home from an Aning cross and then as Pownall exchanged passes with Allard before hitting the net. Man of the match: the immaculate Eccleston.

Day; Eccleston, Arme (Watkiss), Riman, Cole; Woodward, Schad, Sharp, Pownall (Lewis); Aning (Makysmiw), Allard.
