UNDER 16'S MATCH REPORT: LEFC 7 - 0 Codnor Boys
Emmanuel made it three wins from four league games as they overcome a hardworking Codnor outfit. With a strong wind behind them, Emmanuel dominated the first half playing some lovely pass-and-move football. The opening goal came as Taylor did really well to pull the ball back for Walker who finished smartly. This was soon followed by a goal from Aning who used his strength to turn his man before slotting home. Number three came from Large as he latched on to a fine Aning cross to sweep the ball home. Number four was a fine Smithson strike from the edge of the box. Half-time was by now approaching but there was time for two more goals - both from Walker: one a tap-in and the other a lovely finish after fine work down the left by Cole and Sharp. This second half saw Emmanuel up against the big wind but, with Walters and Sam Riman slotting neatly into defence and Lewis and Woodard a threat on the wings, Emmanuel continued to have the best chances and finally got their seventh goal as midfielder Schad burst through the Codnor defence to slot home.
