U16: AFC Denby 5 - 2 EMMANUEL
It was a really enjoyable morning at Denby and despite the loss, once again we were the dominant team. The season really has been about a lack of cuting edge and had we taken half the chances we have created in each match then perhaps it would be Emmanuel and not Denby who would be celebrating winning the league. Defensively there was some shocking moments during the match and as well as we defended in open play, the marking from set pieces was terrible and resulted in 4 Denby goals.
Other than the lack of goals at one end and the gifting of too many at the other, the middle was great with Timson, Trebski and Al-Zubayel bossing the centre of the pitch. With 2 left backs upfront Emmanuel actually looked very good in possession and spread the ball around nicely. It was great to see 13 players who all worked hard for each other, didn't get on each others back when mistakes were made and just enjoyed the football.
There were several great displays with John Parton dropping back into defence and having a great game. Bishaldo also came on for the second half and made a big impact creating some good opportunities for teammates and working well with the exceptional Cartwright, man of the match, on the right side. Well done to everyone.
With only one league game left and the summer cup to look forward to then Emmanuel can finish happy, the way it started.
Goals: Trebski, Cartwright
Man of the Match: Cartwright

Darren Moore to become honorary member of Emmanuel
Former Derby, West Brom and Jamaica legend Darren Moore is to become an honorary member of the club after enjoying his recent visit. Darren, who presented the awards at the annual celebration event, was a superb guest and and definitely gave a great deal of inspiration to the players and worshippers at Emmanuel Church. With pre-season round the corner everybody can take motivation from Darrens words of wisdom and push new boundaries over the coming months.
